Progressive Illness
When you are attending a medical school for animals you still study how the immune system works. Its the same for animals as it is people. You have the innate and adaptive immune system. You're born with the innate system and this is our first line of defense against illness. Our skin is part of this defense system, but it's not specific. Our body just fights off whatever it can. Then we have the adaptive immune system. This is specific. This is why the flu shot is recommended because it gives our adaptive system time to build immunity to a new virus. Now, with that being said, back to COVID.
I am on day 3 of showing symptoms and thankfully I don't need to go to the hospital as of yet. I do however, feel like I am dying. My body is doing its best to fight this off, but without previous knowledge of this virus, it is hard. I drink so much water ever single day and I still feel dehydrated. My entire body hurts and is exhausted from the energy that us being used to fight this off. Yes, I am forcing myself out of bed every day to walk and to take hot showers, they both seem to help a little, but not everyone is like me. Not everyone has an extreme mind over matter mentality. I also don't know how much longer I will be able to continue to do so. If the symptoms do get worse, then we will have to see what happens. I am hopeful that they won't as I am being aggressive with the over the counter medication that has been recommended. But, this is not the flu. There is so much pain that comes with it, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
So stop and think before you decide to go outside and risk your health. People may be carries of this and not show any symptoms. You may be a carrier and give it to someone you love. This physical distancing is needed because our immune systems have never seen this before. Give the doctor's and nurses a break and stay inside, they need your help as much as people with weak immune systems need your help.
